Fork has a worldwide reputation as a Big Bass Lake. If the sand bass indeed threaten the fishery as a Big Bass Lake, then the sand bass population will be a good topic for the “State of The Lake Address” if TPW decides to hold another Fork specific meeting this coming year. Fork is their baby for sure.

Last year it was the malicious and greatly reviled hyacinth. This year it’s the despicable, but "still yummy" sandie.

I would comment on how whitey can interfere with blackey, but I am just not educated enough to do that. If you guys say the whites will interfere and potentially kill off the trophy bass population then I will simply have to go along with that lizard

Cameron is a great person!!!!! Has always been super nice to me and does an outstanding job with customers. And is great for the industry!

Supposedly this is an issue on Ray Roberts this year as well!

+1 to water_surge post

I have read issues about this situation on the TFF; don't know enough about it yet to have an opinion.

But would support it if it is a major developing issue?

there needs to be a date set for this extravaganza. If anything it will bring bussiness to the marina because 1. Im willing to bet there are WAY more bassfishermen on fork than there are sandie fishermen and 2. Host marina of the event will draw people to stay in their rooms. and LFM is for sure the best on the lake.

I am coming to Lake Fork for the first time in my life this Friday. Not knowing too much about the lake besides the fact that growing up I knew it as one of the best LMB lakes in the country I have been SUPER excited about my upcoming trip. Personally I am not paying a guide to take me out and put me on a boatload of white bass. If I wanted that, I would stay here and go to EML. I am going in hopes of catching some good quality LMB. IMHO, if the white bass are actually effecting the population of the LMB at Fork, somebody needs to do something about it. Nothing against the folks that like to fish for white bass, but personally, I don't know of many people that will travel half way across the country to come to Texas just to catch a few. LMB on the other hand is what has kept Fork as one of the premier lakes in the country so I say do what you have to do to keep it that so that future generations of LMB anglers will have the same opportunities that we have now with this great fishery.

Not trying to stir the pot but i believe there are a few people here trying to convince others that the LMB is the only fish worthy of catching and the white bass is trash I can show you a lake that used to be one of the finest bass fishing lakes around and hosted televised events a time or two a year Since then they have focused their efforts catering to the white bass and wiper (hybrid) fish and fisherman The results have been very good for the lake and the public. I think it takes lmb, whites and hybrids to make the lake and the community be as successful and profitable as possible.
