Folks, we got a few spots open on the TFF Nueve Tuna charter on November 5th-7th, 2010.
If interested look over the first post on this section of the "Official TFF Nueve Tuna charter".

Cmon people, you know of all the tuna trips going out this is the one to be on because it will:

1) Have the most up to date information on the bite from TBB and the Scat Cat trip the week before
2) Margarita Mojo and his magical machine will be onboard (I think)
3) lite-liner bailed to a different trip so there will be no Cudas caught
4) I'll be onboard! bannana2

I haven't been able to contact the friend that "bought" my third spot but never paid so I'm looking to fill it or I'll bring the most obnoxious angler I know. Well the 2nd most because the guy I can't find is number 1. lizard

This is a dark moon date also, which is usually best for the YFT.

Hi Jig,

So, I gotta ask as couple of newby questions:

1) When is the Tuna "season", from a Freeport/Port A perspective....October to Feb/March?
2) I know this is a personal view, but which "two connected months" are historically best for the 56 hour trips, of course, your opinion.

Thanks

Well I was thinking about getting on this one but I landed a spot on a charter on the Pelican for October 30, 31 with
Capt. John Brennan, Keith Banks, and Clint.

This should be a good one though.

You are right, Oct - March, and sometimes April. But if I had to pick one date it would be dark weekend of November, which is this trip.

How many are going now. I am interested.

The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

The target is 24 anglers if JP is onboard. I think there are three open spots right now otherwise.

Actually it's not that big. I believe the Scat Cat is only about 75-80ft long. The Big E is about 40-50ft longer than the Scat Cat I believe.

Are you sure Brian? I was under the impression that the Scat Cat is shorter than the New Buccaneer in Galveston. The NB is like 83' long. Either way, yes, the scat cat is a big boat. It's much wider than the Big E so it can seem a bit roomier. 24 people on that boat should be pretty roomy. I've been on that boat with like 65 guys before....THAT SUCKED!

i heard 80'. thats pretty damn long still. that's 4 of my boats end to end. should be LOTS of room with 24 folks. Gonna be a blast! really looking foward to this trip. this is gonna be "the one" to be on this year. perfect timing, i can feel it.

You can find more details on the Scat Cat with pics by doing a search on 360tuna.com. DeepBlueGulf (aka Tom Salazar) did a thread on it about a year and a half ago.

It's roomy and comfy as far as "Texas" long range boats go. It ain't the Big E but it's OK.
