If your only option for storing a kayak is on the garage floor or outside under a tarp; is it better to store right side up, upside down, or on its side? I'd love to hang it up, but w/out room; it isn't an option (both cars in the garage). I do however have room on the sides of the cars (especially if storing on its side is a good option?) I've heard "lay on it's side b/c it's a thick side wall, but I truly don't know what's best. I'd like to see what the concensus is.

I had a storage question for my ocean kayak. I actually checked their website and even emailed their customer service and I got a response (mine is bit different.... store on end).

Man; that creates another issue. I'm afraid it's too long for my garage! I hate to keep it outside uncovered. Covering it while it's on it's end may be a trick. It makes sense though; you always see the stores displaying them that way.

I keep four kayaks in my apartment garage. Two are hanging from ropes on their sides, with the other two laying on their sides below them. I'll snap a picture when I get home if you want me too. They've been like this for two years without a problem.
The worst way to store a kayak is to hang them from their handles. This will cause them to warp.

The side seems to be what I've heard from people I've talked to.Thanks for the offer on the pixs, but I think I understand. Good to know you've had no problems w/it on the side for 2 years.

So.. what you are implying is: Kayak s s s stays out and the c c car stays in ? Acccccckkkkkkkkkk - Boys - Help - River's world - it's wild and weird and upside down With some McGuyvering effort, exact spacing and a willingness to put smaller rings right thru the handles you can get a boat to almost touch the ceiling.

Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

Trying to fit it all in (cars, yaks, mowers, etc.) I like the pulley system you show. May try it!
