I strongly suggest the "IGNORE" feature.

I think it is hilarious that brid says he has never met a qualified angler. That is a cheap shot at everybody. Nobody is good compared to him and his 55 years carping experience

We won't have a good season again for a while, unfortunately mate. Not until we get new ownership. It will probably get worse before it gets better - RBS is calling the loan in in 2 weeks so who knows what will happen next. It's a depressing time to be a red. YNWA

This SELF proclaimed greatest carp fisherman stuff is for the birds. I hardly ever get on this section now " not that yall really care i'm sure" but when i did I always tried to keep it positive. Not sure why some people on this section are allowed to "troll" and take shots at each other. All the bickering is getting old and frankly it gives the rough fishing sect a bad rep. The attitudes in this sect match the title and they are rough. Once you "boys" start playing nicer and taking constructive critisism less personal, I think alot more people would be prone to fish for carp/buffs. Until then you are wasting your time trying to promote the sport of carp fishing with all this childish bs going on. Some of ya'll just need to grow up! It's ridiculous to see people your ages acting this way. There's my .02 for the year. Peace I'm out

WC, I was out fishing for about an hour or 2 last night and there was a ton of action. I think this rain really has them stirred up at the moment. If you can get out there you should be able to get into them pretty good. I had a fish last night come from about 15 yards from the bank in about 8 feet of water. They were crashing all over the place too.

Good luck mate!

1. The lake varies, generally up at the west end up to 15 feet, down the east end up to 30 feet.
2. Generally a firm bottom, Eilers has a little weed as does the Homeless. The Homeless also has a few minor snags.
3. When generating power the lake has lots of flow, at other times none. The fish usually feed a few minutes after the flow stops.
4. I have done well by prebaiting a swim with very large amounts of bait, they love bait!
5. The fish will feed at all ranges, plumb the depth and find features.
6. The fish do show and crash fully out of the water.

Regarding the current...

Different swims react differently to the flow. If the current is strong, choose a swim on the Southeastern part of the lake- Pleasant Valley, Gazebo, or Melrose would be good choices.

LBL was the first place I really felt like my equipment was not big enough (before I went Euro). Be ready to cast a long ways out there- Some holes are 60-90 yards out. ALWAYS have at least one rod out as far as you can cast.

Boilies and Maize have both had success there- Choose the bait you are most comfortable usiing.

From what I have learned from fishing there this year, basically what Scott said, mixed in with the great Richard Somerville, and the others. The method has worked for me this year with fish up to 31 pounds at s 1st st. Of course, I handed off probably 4-5 of what would have been my PB's this year alone because I allow people who dont have euro gear to share with me.

The method that worked well for me was the oatmeal, grits, chili powder, cream corn mix. If the consistancy was not good enough, I always wrapped it with honey wheat bread, which is in itself a good bait.

I used a variety of baits though, and as Chad said, both maize and boilies worked well. I do seem to remember tutti fruitti working the best though

Good luck!

PB Common Carp....... 38 lbs
PB Mirror Carp........12 lbs 8 oz
PB SM Buffalo........ 53 lbs
PB Grasser........... 48 lbs 4 oz
PB Blue cat.......... 17 lbs (caught on maize)
