On Sunday, my dad and I both took our own boats out to cover a submerged roadbed thoroughly on Sam Rayburn. I went deep and he started out shallower. I had been fishing down it for about an hour when I noticed a boat heading towards me from the south end of the lake. I thought to myself he is heading straight at me. He got close enough to me on plane that I could throw into his boat and he yelled find your own g**d*** fish. At first I thought I must know him then I realized I did not know him personally, but knew who he was. I pulled up my trolling motor and chased him down. I proceeded to ask him what he meant by find my own g**d*** fish. He said I was fishing his brushpile. I then told him that I was fishing a roadbed and there was not a sign there that said it was his spot and that I did not know that he had a brushpile there. I also told him that I had never seen him before, so how was I to know that this was his spot. He said he did not know how I did not know there was a brushpile there since I was sitting on top of it and not to worry because it would be gone tomorrow. I was not on top of a brushpile, but I had passed one about 100 yards behind where I was fishing when he came by me. I told him all he had to do was ask me if he could fish there since he was fishing a tournament and I was just messing around. He never said anything to that. About that time my father pulled up since he heard the yelling and had seen him come by and yell at me. He said lets go so I decided it would be best to listen to my father. From there we just went fishing different places that he probably says is his also since he must own all of Lake Sam Rayburn.

Tell that no good you know what, that this is a public lake and you can fish anywhere and anything you want. I had this same thing happen on Rayburn during the summer. I hope this was not someone in wrapped Basscat, if so it is the same guy.

Next time dont leave and tell him to $#$@# off.

I am pretty sure this will get some guys going here. But my take is that this is a public lake for a reason. I myself how put out many piles and have been beat to them by other guys fishing them first. I just simply go somewhere else. Heck i even watched one guy one day pull over 20lbs off of one of my piles. There is nothing i can do or say. This is the reason we spend thousands of dollars to have the best equipment to help us out.

This kind of act is what hurts the sport of fishing and gives everyone a bad taste in their mouth.

Bad seeds.......Toss em into the wind!

You have some crazy luck when it comes to brush piles!

What a jerk. Did you get the location on gps?? If so, post 'em here... then every time he goes out there he will have company! LOL! Just amazing how someone can make a place in the water their own possession.

Kamerai has the right idel!! "I suppose these three 6#ers are yours also....Then add, I think I'm done here..It's all yours as you smile and slowly idle away with a huge grin on your face"

If you yell back at those type of people they feed off of it, but, if you just smile and drive off, it eats at them all day.

That's my take on road rage folks also!! Smile, wave and keep driving. You can almost watch their blood start to boil.

You did the right thing. Called him on but were smart enough not to fight. All you could do. Feel's good to scream 'em out and not have to think about it later.

I like that. But I wouldn't have gone as far as wasting breathes on this guy. I would have simply smiled and gave him a tip of the hat. Let him wrestle with his own gloom.
