 punch bait refresher?

I bought some punch bait (CJ's shad) and thought I would give it a try.
Caught 3 dinks right off but then nothing. The stuff stays on the hook really well but I got to wondering if the scent diminished too much as it soaked.
Do you ever scrape it off the hook & reload with fresh punch bait?

When I use a prepared bait I won't scrape it off but I will dab it back in the bucket to recharge it. If it goes too long with no bite I move cause there ain't no sense in wait for the fish to come to you when you can go to them in most cases.

or if stuck bank fishing like me , after 6-8 hrs give up and go home and complain on the TFF

If you feel that it needs "refreshing" after a while, give it a spay of Dead Red or another attractant.
