I mostly fish for hybrids on Ray Hubbard. I am getting anxious to fish for striper on Texoma. I am a newbie when it comes to fishing for striper so I need help in understanding how the patterns vary during the year to plan a trip. I want to go in October and Nov to Texoma what can I expect in terms of pattern behaviors in the fall. I did a search for patterns but did not turn up much. Point me in the right direction for a little research please who_knows

I second gottabe for Texoma. If that is not really an option then go to the Six Old Geezers website. They have a link on my site (see the Links/Info page)

Unfortunately I can't think of a good seach phrase to extract that info. You could search Texoma but as you found you are usually differed to the 6-old-geezers. You will most likely have to chose a lake and seach by date to find out general patterns for that time of year at that lake. You should be able to put together a pattern fairly quickly. In general Striper fishing in Oct-Nov should be great. They should start some topwater but at least school up on structure and be very catcheable on slabs.

Thank you Guys !! Of course Im always available for hire.. But willing to help out with advice as well if ya want to go at it yourself.
Oct/Nov are great times at Texoma. The wheathers cooling ,water temps cooling and the fish very actively fattening up for the winter.
Live shad will put huge numbers of fish in the boat this time of year.
Slabs and Sassy shad for artificials. By then there will likely be tons of birds working all over the lake. This is very easy fishing but very productive.
There should also be an early am top water bite as well. Bilnd casting big pencil poppers on shallow points can be a big rush !!
Keep your eye on here and ther SOG board as you get closer to your trip for up to the minute details. Also feel free to call or e-mail me and I'll likely share some stuff with you as well.
For now all you really need to know is thats one of the best times to fosh Texoma.
The only times that are just as good are from Dec thru Sept.... smile smile smile

JD, I sent you an email!

Thanks guys for the recommendation. I can't think of a better way to get to know the lake than with a guide that comes so highly recommended.

Bluetuna,

You can't go wrong with JD. WE fished with him back to back days in March and he is awesome. I have never had a guide work so hard, and he will teach you a thing or two as well. JD, I am coming back to see you as well, as soon as I can get a d@mn day off!
