I fished Tawokoni Saturday. After fighting the wind all morning, The wind died down around noon and the fish turned on. We found hybrids chasing shad on the top north east of the dam and caught several hybrids & stripers, channel cats, and sandies on the humps northeast of the dam. The hybrids ranged 20 to 25 inches.

Is the State Park ramp good? I will be down Sunday through Thursday. Is there any obstacles to have to worry about?

Tawakoni is ULTRA HOT right now with HYBRIDS and when you hooked to a STRIPER, it is about 25 to 30 inches long. Last sunday we limit out with four people fishing from morning until noon. Wednesday just past, we limit out again with four people from 6pm to 8:30pm.

Most of the fish we caught are HYBRIDS and manage to find a couple of STRIPERS.

Good luck all, see you at the lake.

Where these caught on live bait or slabs? I will be fishing with my dad and would love to get him onto some schooling hybrids.

David, the ramp at the state park is fine to use. If you are staying there then I would use that one. But if you are not staying there I would use the one at Holiday. The state park locks the gates at night and do not open them until around 7:00am and the fish were schooling by that time right outside Holiday. We caught all the bait we needed with one throw of the cast net at Holiday Tuesday when we put in there. Most of our fish were caught on slabs and rattle traps while they were schooling. It was to hard to try and fish with live bait while they were schooling. The fish were to busy making there way to the dam. Latter that morning the guides fished live bait on the the dam side of the Holiday humps and were doing pretty good. Stay away from the points while motoring with the big moter and watch the depth finder. The points are 3-4 feet deep 1/4 mile away from the bank and I watched 1 guy run right up on it. Took him 30 minutes to get off.

Holiday is about 5 miles on down 47 from the state park. They charge $5.00 to launch.
