Alot of times, you can find shad right in front of the cleaning station at Holiday Marina.
Working is what you do when you cannot fish!

A friend of mine told me they catch shad under lights at one of the ramps. They would stop there on their way to Fork.

Two weeks ago I was catching them on the two mile bridge boat ramp. The west one by the fishing barge. You have to throw your net shallow on the concrete. I don't know if they are still there, but early is best. You can also find them around the marina by the fishing barge.

Holiday Marina is were I catch them. Around the docks and in front of the fish cleaning station. You will have no problem catching them there now. Catch them early early morning (will its still dark) because at sunrise they will be gone. (harder to catch). I would get there 45min before sunrise.

Holiday Marina is good........ if you are coming from bridge try SHALLOW along Finger Point lots of bait there in the summer months especially with a south wind........ the bottom is pretty clear and usually no problem with getting the net hungup.

Under the bridge is good too. You may have to look around a little. Throw close to the piles but not in between, there is a cross member that will eat your net. Last time I was there I couldn't catch shad smaller than 6". Most bays should have shad. Try shallow against vegetation early and move a little deeper later in the day. I found a lot in the backs of coves in and around water lillies also.
