We went saturday eve and did real well and also caught a limit sunday morning. I guess we were fortunate to do so well. Our biggest was 13 pounds and we caught them all in 16 feet of water downrigging sassy shads and roadrunners.

Went fishing on Lake Lewisville Saturday 9/11 with an experienced guide that I have had many good trips with in the past on many area lakes. Fished for over six hours with four of us fishing with live shad and we only got three hits with one hybrid boated about six or seven pounds. Fished looked kind of skinny. The guide worked hard and did everything he could, the fish just were not cooperating. Marked a lot of good fish on the graph, they just were not biting.

Matt, Thanks so Much for All your Very Helpful Info !

I Had the Pleasure of meeting you at the State Park Cleanng station about a Month ago ( I think You had loaned out your Fish Cleaning Knife ) anyway your a Credit to your Profession and a Very Nice Guy to Boot !

So we have been having the same experiences you have been talking about...While trolling (rigging) Plowing thru tons of good fish... No Bite.. Zero,, Zip... Sunday Had one on most of the way to the boat and then gone...so I'm trying different Baits .. doing the fish dance on the Bow of the Boat,, praying to the Great fish in the Sky.... all no help ! smile

this time of year what bait is best chance of getting a reactionary strike while downrigging ?

and Seriously, Thanks for your Info... it really helps us Regular Fishing folks to learn more and understand whats going on with the fish and enjoy more our outdoor experiences..
