Fish for crappie alot in the winter. My problem is braid or mono line my rod guide and spool and line roller will ice up. what is a good solution for this?

if it is that cold i would stay at home lol my solution but probably put de-icer on it before u go or maybe a little rubbing alcohol

c. Go home
Or just put antifreeze in a spray bottle and give er a squirt!

Trick we used for late fall/early winter fishing in Montana is to rub guides with a thin layer of vasoline. U will need to reapply occasionally.

Thank you very much i will try that out for this winter.How bout line icing on line and spool any trick for that one?

I've never tried it, but have been told WD-40 on the spool of line helps to keep the line from freezing. Worth a try.

thx. but imo it breaks down the line and spraying wd 40 can into to your reel part breaking down you grease and oil

to coincide with temps over 32. smile

ice on reel = butt by fireplace smile I fish in the winter ofter. I guess it has never been that cold.

I think the "KVD line conditioner" is supposed to help with that.
