Have any one try drying nibbles out a little bit? they stay on the hook better that way.

Have any one try drying nibbles out a little bit? they stay on the hook better that way. The crappie nibbles have a scent which attracts the fish. When you let them dry out you lose the scent, and they do not work as well. I never put a jig in the water without a nice fresh nibble. They really increase your bite rate.

well i try the fresh ones and the one dry out a little bit while i fishing both get bites. But the dry ones stay on long to let me catch more fish. that just my opinion on it and it keep the blue gill from robbing my nibbles

If they are too moist I just lay them out on a piece of cardboard the the evening before fishing. They dry out just enough to last longer on the hook. I also have a tendency to leave one on a jig on my older rod and just drop it in to siak a little while getting my other equipment set up. Don't really believe you lose thast much scent since they still work for me. If anything the loss of scent usually keeps the perch off of them.

Have any one try drying nibbles out a little bit? they stay on the hook better that way. Also you can add rice to your nibbles, I add a little rice to the top and bottom and shake the nibbles up. The rice extract some moisture and also help to keep the nibbles separated.

I personally have never had any problems with the nibs being to moist or coming off of the hook, The moist nib puts off a trail of scent which i feel is a big plus I have used dryer nibs in the past with unsatisfactory results. All of this of course is just my opinion!!!! Fwiw if i have a jig in the water it's tipped with a nib.

I spread them on a sheet of foil in the toaster oven for 7 minutes at 250 degrees. Make sure you do this in the garage or your wife will kill you for the way the house smells afterwards.

Leave the lid open while fishing. The sun will dry them out.

leave them on the deck or shore for 5-10 mins works great, you just need the top to dry alittle
