Had lunch there yesterday.....wasn't that great to me. Did I miss out on something? I ordered the cheese enchiladas.

By far not the best mexican food in DFW...
BUT...
The atmosphere and the history is killer!! The food is solid...try the fajita dinner next time. The margaritas are outstanding, FYI.

As far as I am concerned, Joe T's is a part of Ft. Worth history and has a nice atmosphere but the food sucks. Waaaaayyyyy over rated!
Same with Angelos BBQ.

Just got home from Joe T's. Niece had her 21st birthday there.
Same as I remembered. Very crowded and loud. Two choices on the menu, fajitas ($14.50) or enchiladas (11.50). Small margarita was $7.75 and a pitcher was something like $28.
As far as the fajitas, I rate them at a 5 out of 10. They were just ok, nothing special. A small side of sour cream was $1 and it was enough for maybe 2 fajitas.
For the margaritas, I would give them maybe an 8 out of 10. I only took a sip of my wifes to taste it but they dont hold back on the tequila like most places do.
Service, I would say an 8 of 10. The server was pretty attentive although my water glass went empty a few times. I will admit that I drink alot of water with my meals and they were small glasses.
If you do go, they dont take credit/debit cards. Only cash or checks. They wont split the check and they wont make change with the cash.
I think I'm good for another 20 years or so until I have to go back.

meh, much like mi tierra in San Antonio, way overrated. Is that the one thats on the riverwalk? Sits on a corner across from the Hilton? We have eaten at this place I'm thinking of twice. First time was really good and second time sucked.

it's over by the Mercado. There is a Casa Rio on the riverwalk, and I've always thought they were great.

The food is way over rated IMO, but go there in the evenings and have a few margaritas and you will see what its all about... it dang sure isnt the food!
