Me and a few buddies went to our spot at the start of the Texas side jetties. It was flat with little wind but HOT. We ended up catching 8 bull reds, 1 slot red, and 2 keeper flounders. Around 2 we ran out of water and food and I decided to yak back to the truck, run to Sabine Pass to restock our supplies, and come back for a few more hours of fishing. Stupidily I figured that it would be faster to just pull the yak up into the rocks by where we leave the truck (our little launch spot - not much traffic makes it back as far as we do) instead of loading it in the truck and strapping it down. I made a conscious effort to check every single truck bed on the way there and back to make sure someone didn't walk off with my yak. I was only in the store for about 3-5 minutes. Well of course once I get back the yak is gone. I drive all the way to the back looking for it but nothing. Checked all the vehicles on the beach near by, drove through a park that was close by and nothing. The only thing I can figure is they snatched it and drove past while I was in the store. On the way back home we saw the orange life jacket that was with the yak on the side of the highway so it must have flown out of the thieves truck. Pretty crappy way to end a great day. I am keeping my eyes peeled on Craigslist but I doubt I ever see it again. Well here are some of the fish pics:

This one has the kayak in the pic:

Here is one of the couple of times we were doubled up:

Here are some pics of the kayak. It is an older model Perception Kohu 11.5' blue/white yak. If someone spots it please let me know!!

Ugh I hate thieves...

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I dont know much about kayaks.
Do you happen to know if theyre serialized??

If so, and you have the serial number, you should report it asap.
You may be able to obtain it from a receipt or other document when you first bought it.

Most thieves often will take it to a pawn shop (for a measely $50), and pawn shops often record the S/N once they accept it.

No serial number that I can recall. I had just bought it off a guy a few months before and this was just the 4th or 5th time to take it out.
