Had the pleasure of fishing with Fishin'aholic2 (Anthony) today. I'm trying to learn to crappie fish and Anthony was kind enough to show me around Joe Pool a bit today. My brother and I met him at the dock at 7:00am. Anthony had the lead, taking us to timber on the east side of the lake. The lake is up considerably, so we were trying to adapt from his previous trip last week there. First tree we start jigging, Anthony pulls out two. "See, easy as that" he says...  We hit more timber for a few hours, picking up a few keepers and one chunk out of a big tree at about 20' of water. I had the big fish of the day for about 30 seconds before Anthony got one that went about 13.5".  We moved to the west side of the lake and hit a Core brush pile that Anthony knew of. We located it in about five minutes and were on fish. All of us caught fish, but Anthony beat us about 3 to 1. We ended up with about 9 keepers and probably caught another 9 unders. But for me I got to learn to do some jigging on timber and brushpiles - I intend to go back soon and see if I can repeat. Great day overall - many thanks Fishin'aholic for all the pointers!

Congrats on the successful day! At lease you caught some crappie! I had to settle for some bluegill at White Rock.

It is nice when it all comes together. Lots of experience here on the forum. WTG Anthony...and especially for sharing your knowledge and expertise with someone else. That is how we learn to crappie fish...........Good job teacher and student!!!!!!!!!!
