I have fished this area over the years and just anchored up at a likely looking spot (current moving ,better looking water etc..). I guess my question is: Is there a piling # ? east side better than west side? or is it best just to look it over at the time and fish the color break and current edge? I may try to set up with lights one night and see what happens.

Thanks

That's the only place I fish anymore. The pilings were numbered, but most of the numbers have worn off. Most boats fish around #54. That's where the camera looking pole is. I've fished up at #49 and have beaten all the others this year, but It's been my worst year. That's where the picture in my avatar was taken. There's a snake spray painted on there. There's a 25 foot hole down at #36 on the gulf side. You might try that area. The gulf side has been the most productive for me this year. Some good catches have been made in the surf over by the car bodies.

Thanks for the info. - is the snake on #54? Is it a double piling? I fished one night close to that piling ( may have been 56) years ago and did pretty good. I love SPL and wished I lived closer. I will try that area one night maybe I can make it down the in the next couple of weeks.
