rod and reel advice

i just wanna do some fishing around my house in the colony. can i just get one rod and reel and use it to fish all different types of fish or do i need a rod and reel specific to each type of fish??

you can get a 6'9 mh rod and cover most applications. You dont have to spend alot of money, I would reccomend a citica as a reel. Shimano also makes some good rods that are cheap.

you can get a 6'9 mh rod and cover most applications. You dont have to spend alot of money. +1 perfect advice

+2 I have a 6'9" mh bass pro carbonlite rod with a revo on it. They actually sell these as a combo for 199. Weightless plastics all the way up to 3/4 ounce jigs depending on trailer. Not the best rod for big spinnerbaits but it really does handle a wide range of stuff. The most value for 200 bucks I've ever gotten when it comes to fishing gear.
