I am going to port A soon and plan on doing the shamrock loop of the Mustang Island Paddling Trail. How is the parking for that loop, TPWD says to park at Wilson's cut. I was wondering how safe your truck is unattended there? I know safe is a relative term, I just want to make sure that the parking at Wilson Cut is not a place that is notourious for breakin's.
thanks in advance
What was that?

Use the "Shamrock Cove" launch on this map.

Safer to leave your vehicle there than the boat ramp at the end of Wilson's Cut. Also, park off the caliche road, semi-trucks use this road a lot. Also, don't drive past the yellow gate, because it does get lock from time to time.

Fished the loop alot and he is right about the parking. Maybe off your topic but check out the surf near the state park from now on untill Dec or so. The surf should be pretty calm and the fishing can be great right off the beach in a yak. Catch some live bait and free line it off the third bar or under the birds...Have fun....
