Mark from the 6 old Geezers site posted this on a report he had on Texoma, a perfect picture of 3-6 pound stripers on an Eagle 320. I know a lot of people ask what fish are suppose to look like on a graph, so here is a real good one.

Here's the report that goes with that picture:
We thought about fishing late today, but with the weather threatening, decided to hit it a little earlier. Got on the water at about 11:00, and turned right instead of left. We fished structure for about an hour, and it just didn't work. We came out of a creek, and were heading through some open water toward another spot when my flasher LIT UP. We set up a drift, and stayed on a great school of fish for the next three hours. Actually made only three drifts in that time, but they were each about a mile long!
I do not have a count. Best guess, probably 40 at least. We threw back everything under 18" and over 20". Ended up with a limit of perfect box fish. We had a good number over 20", with the largest 28 inches, and probably a good solid 8 pounds. We mixed up lures and rigs to keep it interesting. Sassys did best, with the Dayglo just edging a Silk Chartreuse. Also caught 'em on Wildeyes, Rainbow Slabs and Loren's slabs. Prune Pickers would have whacked 'em, but I never took the time to tie one on. Set down my casting rig for a while, and tangled with a few nice one's on a light spinning rig. Lotsa work. Biggest on it was probably about 24 inches.
All the fish came from water 30-40 ft. deep, but they were stacked from 15 or 20 to the bottom. We were dropping the Sassys straight down, and reeling straight up VERY slowly. The best fish came from within a foot of the bottom.
Shot a picture of my graph. Gonna try to post it.

Does the 320 have a speedometer in it, or no?
I am going to get one once I get a new boat...they seem to be the most popular one around for the money spent...

I personally like a GPS to get my trolling speeds. If that is what your after. That way you get the same speed reguardless of current that you will have from wind or river flow. Good Day; ><{{*>

You can add a speed sensor to a FishMark 320.
Or you can buy a SeaFinder 320DF. This comes with a speed sensor included in the package. This is what I did. (I also wanted the narrower angle 12 degree 200 Khz transducer that comes with this unit).
I checked it against my GPS. It was the same. The unit has a speed calibration setting in the menu so that if it is showing too fast or too slow, you can correct it.

Great Pic! Been seeing echos like that at Texoma but haven't been able to catch many... If anyone is interested - Just additional info if you're considering a new unit: Both the Eagle and Lowrance sites show the new units. http://www.lowrance.com/Marine/default.asp http://www.eaglegps.com/Products/Combo/FishElite480.htm They both also have emulators where you can download a software simulation of some of the units. They don't have them yet for the new higher resolution units yet though. Incidently, the software runs the same simulation as the actual units do when you put them into simulation mode. ------------------ LUV2FISH

I bought the add-on speed sensor for my 320, and I think it works great.
It's not the water tube type of pick-up that you see everywhere that actually takes some pressure to show a reading. It's a little paddle-wheel looking thing, and it's pretty darn sensitive.
