1197 si, a guide trip or two to learn something, and an advanced class on reading fish finders.

I think we can all fish, its learning the little details that separate the good from the great.

Id buy a good rod and reel in whatever you use the most. (Im throwing a tx most of the time...)

Then spend the rest on gas money learning your lakes. Guides might help you a little, but time on the water will help you a ton!

I'd say side imaging for your boat, then pick a lake you really want to learn and get a couple guided trips. If you get a good lake with great guides, tell them what your doing and your plan, and most guys will be more than willing to help and teach you everything they can about their lake. But! Do at least splurge on one high end rod and reel smile!

If I had the 4G I would probally get one or two more st. croix rods. I have 4 and loving them, stock up on some more lures. Then I would use the rest to travel and get on the water.

update a few of your rods, and spend the money on having different guides show you specific techniques.

Buy good electronic`s like a down and side imaging sonar. Then hire guides on lakes you like to fish. We did that for Choke Canyon Lake and it really helped because the lake is so big. We used what he taught us, and not only fished his spots but found our spots from the river to the dam ,and one spot he showed us, about 2 weeks later I netted a 11.3

Good Luck

Go get your boat wrapped with a gigantic flaming skull and spend what's leftover on table dances.

Several guided trips with somebody that is good with electronics and is willing to share Follwed by a new side imager and lots of lake time. Im not much of a high dollar fishing pole sort of guy myself so i doubt i would be spending any money in that department.

57 Telecaster and a solid tube amp, sit on the porch and write songs about the guides and side imaging unit you did not buy, then sell the Tele in 10 years and you will be able to afford whatever graph they have on the market at that time.

Actually, the 1197 is a good investment for you, if you have the money to blow then i would get it, you may never have the opportunity to do it again. You may get lucky and post on the forums your looking to buy one, and get it at a lower price.

Down payment on a new Skeet, like a 20i or ZX250, that comes with all the above mentioned graphs hahahahaha.

Then the table dancers will come to you and the bass will too

I would invest in some bad A rare 3:16 swimbaits.. OG Armogedons, OG Wakes, 6 inch real deals.. THey all go up in value and are all so cool.. Plus if you are really brave they catch fish.. Dont know if i could throw a 300$ plus lure on mono without having a stroke everytime i got bit!
