Made the trip to Bedias Sunday morning with my new fishing partner Mike. He lives a few blocks away and saw the racks on my Jeep and stopped by to chat and found how much we both needed a Yakin buddy.
Arrived at the bridge at o'dark hundred and waited for first light to try and figure how we were going to launch. That's one steep narrow path and slick as goat dip after a rain. so we slipped and slid and manage to get on the water by 6:30.
The bite was on early and we caught 23 whites between us in the next two hours. Then came the rains. It drizzled, it pored and then the sun came out. It was a glorious day. On the way back in I trolled a silver crank bait around the first bend from the bridge and caught a nice white. I turned around and trolled a few minutes back down stream and caught another. Turned back towards the bridge and caught a third. Probably could have done this longer but Mike was already taking his Yak out and I needed to help.
Did I mention how steep and slippery the trail to the launch was? well getting both Yaks back up the slippery sloop was a lot more fun then sliding them down to launch.
Most of the fish were caught on silver crank baits or white spinner jigs and they were all on the north side of the creek. By the time we made it to the shoals the bite was off so can't report on that. No crowds, saw one other kayaker, a canoe and a couple of john boats.
Great trip, Good fishing, But that launch is a killer.
Here is a picture of Mike's fist white and a picture of us with our catch
