Just looking for some personal preferences here, since no one is on a Pro Staff for any knot companies on here i'm looking for a lot of feed back. three easy simple questions on knots. what type do you prefer to use for 1. Braid 2. fluoro 3. mono The reason i ask this question is i have been hearing alot lately about the Palomor breaking Fluoro line @ the tie point on hook sets. This very well could be by improper tying with the final loop coming over. I use the Improved clinch, the Palomor and the rapala knot alot, just seeing what the majority of you guys are using for each type of lines.

1. Braid- Palomar and tie an overhand on the tag so it doesn't slip 2. San Diego Jam or Double San Diego 3. Same as #2

1. Palomar 2. Reverse clinch 2. Palomar
I stick with some pretty basic knots and am interested in seeing some other responses...

Knot Wars 2010 may have answered the question for all of us.They took the 2008 winner Palomar, which was beaten in 2009 by the Fish N Fool knot which was beaten in 2010 by the Berkley Braid knot. They explained they use 15lb Trilene,15 Berkley Fluro, and 14lb fireline in their test. They have some nice charts that break down each type of line and at what strength they broke at. Some knots did better with say mono but poorly with braid. The Berkley Braid knot averaged over 18 lbs across each of the three line types. They also are currently running a knot war to find the best leader to line knot, the previous winner uni to uni is about to take on the albright knot. Hope this helps. I have always used a Palomar knot, learned the San Diego jam this year for fluro, but may have to learn the braid too

since no one is on a Pro Staff for any knot companies I've tried contacting Palomar about possible sponsorship opportunities, but oddly enough I never heard back from them

Berkley Braid knot:
Never realized that was its name, but Fouz taught me that knot to use with Flouro, and braid. I LOVE it. Simple to tie, and strong as can be.
I palomar with mono.

Palomar knot unless I am tying on a large bait, then I use the San Deigo Jam knot.
If you tie the Palomar correctly with fluorocarbon it will not break. If you do it wrong it will break every time.
