Just to add to the confusion, no need for anyone to have a license if fishing within the confines of a Texas State Park
However, keep in mind that license-free ...main in effect.

Also remember that, when fishing the Red River, if you are standing on the Texas Bank, only a Texas Freshwater Fishing License is necessary. However, step into the WATER and you need an Oklahoma License, as you just entered Okie territory.

Just in case you didn't know that

hmmm.

You can renew online, for an extra $5 admin fee. Seems worth it to me, though $3 would be more reasonable.

Mike, are you sure that the Texoma license doesn't cover just the lake itself? You know I'm not griping at you, just trying make sure we don't cause someone to end up in the pokey.

From TPWD:
"-Lake Texoma License (Type 208): $12 - With this license, which is valid until December 31 following the date of issuance, a person may fish in both the Texas and Oklahoma waters of Lake Texoma without any additional Texas or Oklahoma fishing licenses or stamps. A Texas resident 64 years of age or older does not need this license to fish in the Oklahoma portion of Lake Texoma. A Lake Texoma license is valid ONLY on Lake Texoma (see reservoir boundaries.)

-A person must have a valid Texas fishing license to fish from the Texas bank from Denison Dam to Shawnee Creek (see illustration). [D] An Oklahoma fishing license is required to wade-fish or fish from a boat in these waters. "

Just remember that if you tip a cow ONTO a snipe, you're still required to have a cow tipping tag and a snipe tag, even if you weren't specifically hunting snipe at the time. Also make sure that you're cognizant of the snipe-slot for the county you're in. smile

I thought the Texoma license was only good on the lake, not on the Red River below the dam. Can anyone point me to the regs on that one?

Oklahoma owns the Red River and you need their license to wade in the river. Using the Lake Texoma license in the river will just result in an unpleasant conversation with the Game Warden.
