Haven't been out in a few weeks but did a de-carb on my engine and had to run it anyway, so might as well fish. Both Sat and Sun I found fish on some reliable boat houses. Anywhere from 12' out front down to 5' out front. Looks like the Fall pattern is picking up. All fish caught on 1/16 oz jigs, including Blue/White! Largest fish today went 1.5 lbs. Nice to have it a bit cooler.

more like groaning and cussing a bit.Glad Steve did well but I think my blue and white would have given him a good run for the money. Glad you got the engine in top form for my return ( hopefully sooner than later)

I am heading to Cedar Creek this weekend with the family, but I plan to fish as much as possible (when the kids aren't tubing!). I have never fished boat houses/dock shooting but I want to figure it out. Could you help me a little more with jig size and colors that were effective for you? I'am assuming the 1/16 fall a lot slower and stay in the strike zone longer...? Chartruese? I have watched the youtube videos, but I'm just looking for any additional info or advice you could give a first timer. We will be staying at Cherokee Landing close to the most Southern 198 bridge. Thank you in advance!

Use your electronics and go find the fish. Bridge might be a good place to start. If you want to shoot docks then experiment a bit. See what works best for you.
Keep on fishing.

Plastics skip better, but with the water so low, you shouldn't have to skip it. Chartreuse or in combo is always a good choice. If you go with a combo, try either a light/dark or dark/light combination. I sent you a PM.

we shot docks at the beginning of summer with chartruese and black, and pink and black roadrunners and did pretty good, also orange jig heads tipped with tri- colored tube jigs did well, white black chart. Take several shots under the dock from several different angles, if no action, move to the next one. Dont spend alot of time on an unproductive dock. Same way if you fish the bridge pilings, keep moving from piling to piling. The older docks with wooden posts seemed to be the best ones we found, and docks that were in deeper water, especially docks that kind of sat off alone. practice shooting jigs jigs in your backyard, you can set a long 2x4 on 2, 5 gallon buckets and shoot under it from different angles and different distances.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
