Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone knew of a good dock in austin or surrounding area to catch sandy's right now? I want to take a couple of friends out for a weekend and catch some whites. Just stayed at thunderbird lodge on buchanon last week. Great inside outside dock but no fish! Any help would be appreciated. I don't mind if it is a pay place as long as the fishing is hot

Bank Fishing for whites in Austin area:

San gabriel River, just west of Granger Lake.

Camp Tejas, just west of Georgetown Lake.

Check out this website for the several places off the San Gabriel to white bass fish:

Yeah, I fish out at Dutchman's now Easy Street Marina. Nothing really going on out there this year, lake just seems to be too low this year. I dont think that the whites are gonna run through there this year, if they were going to they should have already started...Also havent seen any baitfish in there since late last year. However we did have some baitfish come through 03/01 night around 10:00 pm, but the only thing that was chasing them was some 14"-17" Black Bass. The Crappie have been in there, but the keepers seem to be few and far between. I did catch 3 keepers Thurs from 10 in the morning to about 2 in the afternoon. I fish out there usualy 2-3 times a week, if anything changes i will update it with a new post.

Good Luck and Tight Lines,
Chris

So, what's the scoop on Easy Street Marina. Cost, owners, times, etc.? Last I heard the owner of then Dutchman's was chunking rocks at boaters fishing his dock and was charging a membership fee in addition to the nightly fishing fee.
Have they improved the facilities at all?
Thanks,
R

Where do they go when they're not there???

Ram, I emailed Steve out there at Easy Street and he was real nice. Here is his reply:
"Hi Thomas, Fish house is open 24/7 and has lights. No bait yet, most others
are buying minnows etc from the Texaco station on 1431 just before Easy St.
(you can't miss it).Price is $5 per person per calendar day, fishing or
watching. Payment and Rules are posted inside.

Come down and enjoy!

Steve Mazzuca"

Chris, yes I will let you know either way. I don't know which day I will make it yet, but hopefully this week for sure.
