Going to Surfside beach next month. Me and my buddy were planning on taking the skis out to one of the rigs. Can anyone tell me how far offshore they are?

I dont know if that would be a good idea on a jetski or not, I could set it off but not be in any real trouble because they're so easy to roll back over. then again I'd hate to become shark bait. and guys, i know this sounds a little nuts, we will be wise about it though. im not going out if its over 1-2ft seas...

we were out back in may @ the 1st apache rig about 10m
& there was a guy out there with us in a BIG waver-rider,
3-seater, prob. 1200cc. it was 3-4's w/ an occasional 6 that day.
a little over the top, IMO.
Just be careful, bro.

Been talking about this for a while. I would like to do it. I think with several skis you would be fine with good forecast. I'd be interested if you want some company and the dates worked. I have a 3-seater seadoo with a rack I made for the back. Holds a 25qt cooter and 2 rods.
