Ok I have heard several different ways to freeze shad to keep them from getting mushy/soggy Add some water to the bag! Add salt to the bag! Wash/Rinse them really good to get the slim off then place them in the bag! Whats the right way to freeze them to keep them good? After they are frozen will the work for striper? Or anything else for that matter?

They work ok for catfish. Live is always better for striper / hybrids. Personally I have had very little luck with frozen shad for hybrids or striper.

Frozen shad are great catfish bait. Also tried them out on Lake Kirby in Abilene for the Saugeye last spring. Worked great.
All I did was freeze them in zip lock bag.
Just dumped leftovers from shad tank directly into bag, one layer only, and stuck them in the freezer.
I kept them frozen until we put em on the hook. Seemed to work fine.
