Just got back today. Fished Thursday - Saturday. Downside -We stayed at Port O'Connor rentals Pirate's Cove #2. Beds, towels, linens and cookware needed much improvement. Had to call in for them to bring a coffee pot. My wife and I slept on the sofas because beds were sorry. Upside - Boat slip with good cleats, protected cove, cleaning station with pelicans and a cat to help cleanup. Halogen light to work in the evening. Fishing was good for reds and trout in big numbers but small in size. 2 1/2 days fishing we kept 10 reds, 2 trout, 1 drum. All on shrimp under popping corks, Gulp new penny and Rat-L-Traps. North and East winds made it too rough for us to reach the big jetties without complaints from the ladies on board. We did fish the little jetties but only caught a stripped burrfish, toadfish, croaker and pinfish. Most fish were caught in the flats behind the islands (ES bay). Water was clear and you could see cruising schools. Daybreak during the calm we spotted schools of tailing reds along grass lines. Mid morning we found small trout and pests at the rigs.
