Went to Ray Bob last night. Drifted with cut shad and perch on 3 poles with Santee-Cooper rigs. Had one pole with Danny King's stink bait on drift bobber set to about 10 ft. No bites from 9-11 pm. Stink bait rig gets hit hard at about 11 pm in about 10 ft of water off a point. Reel in what I think is my first ever blue cat. 26 inches long. Do not have a scale. Figure between 7 and 10 lbs. Got some really nice fillets in the freezer. Not another bite all night. Went in around 1:00 am.

Must have been a slow night for kitties. I fished Saturday night with stinbaittom and armycatfisher - same setup as you. We fished from about 7:30pm until 3:00am and caught 7 fish total.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting on the water looking like a darn fool.

Seems like it was slow pretty much everywhere. Were you guys fishing Lewisville? Tom has responded to many of my questions on this board with very helpful answers. Seems like a good guy that knows how to fish and is happy to help the newbies. Does he guide or give lessons?

The drift on Saturday night was very slow with almost no wind, so I tossed out soured grain to try and bring them in. Only able to fool the one fish. I just started targeting catfish a few months ago, and this is my largest off of Ray Bob so far. I probably would not keep anything much bigger. I think it makes more sense to keep the smaller ones for eating and throw back the larger ones to make more little ones.

Probably get out at least one night this comming weekend. Hope the bite picks up a bit.
