The wife and I spent the day on Joe Pool friday, we didn't arrive until 9 and I started trolling the hell/pet. The sandies were all but done feeding but still had an hour before they disappeared and boated four trolling the buoys around the swimming areas, I think if you got there earlier you could catch a limit without a problem. Had plans to go early sunday but the weather had different ideas for me. Good luck all.

Thanks for the post on Joe Pool. There is nothing wrong with all the posts on Lewisville, Grapevine and CC, but it's nice to see some info on some of the lakes that those of us that can't travel very far can fish.

I have been doing real well on the sandies. You are right, after about 9:30 they really slow down. I have been tearing them up on the north side between the Lynn Creek boat ramp and heading towards the dam. They start feeding hard at about 7:00-8:00. Their a blast bringing them in on light gear.

Are you fellas catching anything of any size? I tend to drive right by Joe Pool cause I never caught anything big enough to get excited about. It's been a couple of years since I tried. Should I try again?

Personally I haven't caught anything to brag about but, of the sandies that I have caught all have been keepers though I've turned them all back. Pool is very close to my home and would like to see it become a strong fishing lake, I've heard some reports of hydrilla growing around the state park, if this is true the lmb fishing should improve greatly. I have a red and white Triton fish and ski if you see me say hi.

The ones I've been bringing in are between 9" to 14". I'm in the same deal as tritoon, I'm REAL close to the lake. Going during the week,it is alot nicer (don't have to fight the weekend mad house). I'm usally out there every week (Thrusday or Friday mornings). Same invite.....stop by say hi.(Blue/white ProCraft 180 f/s).

Hey guys. I live a couple miles away from JP as well.

I have caught about 50/50 throw backs and keepers. I usually throw them all back.

Usually out in weekday afternoons. Ugly old green boat with a 60 HP Evinrude.

right there is the big'n
