Judging by the width of your spread four fingers up by the gills to be about 6 inches, I'd say the fish was 18 to 20 inches which would make it about 3 to 4 pounds.
Catfish of the same size as bass don't fight harder, they fight differently though.

Is this a Flathead? Are they worth eating like Channel cats? I catch these all day long.

The Tail was round for sure, it was the first thing I noticed besides it being a Catfish and ugly as heck. I'm catching them in a creek near my house on worms, while Panfishing. It's called Fossil Creek. It's like there is one particular area that I seem to catch only Catfish from, every where else on this creek produces Bass and or Sunfish and occasionally a Catfish or two.

I thought I posted 2 pics of the same fish...so ya'll could get a good look at it.
(added 2nd pic)

So, I take your reply to mean they are good eating? Which Cats are the ones you don't want to eat?

HAHA, for sure. I'm glad that we don't even have neighbors with that kind of cats

Are you talking about the first image? I think the last fish looks dramatically different than the first fish, which is is why I posted it. I think it ( the last image) had 20 or 21 dorsal spines and a round tail.
