In your opinion would you use a small live bluegill or any small fish verses your favorite lure?

No. There is no challenge in live baiting. I wouldn't feel like I accomplished anything.

However Its fun to go out at night and drop and ancor, throw a few rods with a carolina rigged live shad and break open a 24 pack with some girls on the boat with you..... I learned that trick my 1st night at SFA

I like catching fish, if live bait is what it takes, then I will use it.

Live bait is best, but I never use it.
 Boatless for minute

That's a good way to get kids hooked. They need to have fun and catch fish. Catching the bait is half the fun. Post over in the catfish section or you may get burned at the stake here.

Artificial all the way for Bass. But then again I don't fish live bait for any type of fish.

You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

Don't get addicted to Senko's like I am . I have too many to even know what to do with them. I have an entire huge box with just senkos then a section of my extra baits I buy when I have money laying around.

I use live bait when they are on beds. Seems to work good. Quick pic and back to the bed they go. Water Dogs and Black Salties.

Live bait works best rigged on a Snoopy rod. (When fishing for bluegill with children)

i was out with steve bennett one day and we were fishing some underwater structure on Fork (go figure) and there was a boat on either side of us. One had live bluegill and one had live crawdads. We out fished both of them combined with soft plastics and THAT was the best. To each his own though

No one said it could not be done, no reason to look down or put your nose up at someone that fishes with live bait.
