the water temps are skyrocketing, and the bass are responding. banged out 20 whites, everyone of em 14.5-15". I fished from 10:30 till 11:45 off the dock at about 15' deep. live shad and a few glass minnows were the dinner of choice. action was pretty hot on the entire point.

this fish was interesting, broken lines and had been caught before, as apparent the hook and line that was lodged in the back of the throat. may have broken off some unsuspecting crappie angler earlier in the day/week.

I am thinking of going out to pace bend this weekend.

Where is the best place to launch? I just have a small 14 ft. jon boat.

Do you have any spots? I heard that where the perdanales meets travis, there are some marinas that are good.

Are you fishing close to the docks? Under light?

Any info, is greatly appreciated!

river boat,

i havent been near the river in several years, but i know things usually stay the same. what your looking for once on the water is, boat docks, suspended over some decent water(20 foot+), with adequate lighting. Most docks have some sort of lighting, some better than others. on the colorado river portion, there used to be several docks with huge light setups, that you park the boat over and drop live bait down, around the lighted areas. the action should be pretty quick (15-25'). the more lights the better IMO. the best place to launch is george and merrys, which is down Old Ferry road, if its in the water, or call Pace Bend park and ask them if the Collier Cove ramp is available for use. thats the best i got.

Are you fishing at resort ranch or another private dock? Anyone been out to Reimers in the past few days?

magician,

i fish the main body of LakeTravis, near arkansas bend, or Hudson Bend. that area of the water. last night i was on top of some crappie, so they took priority over the whites last night. the whites were around 12'-20', and the crappie were 25'-30 still. shad was tough to catch last night but small perch was to be found. the crappie loved em'.

Nice lookin slabs. Gotta love those magnum whites. It's driving me crazy here at work. Where do you usually launch with the lake being so low and only getting lower?
