So I bought a crab pot yesterday. I'm going to go try to catch some tonight. Then I'd like to go out and set it in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon on occasion. I don't think I'll ever be catching a big ol mess of them at one time. So I'd like to store/freeze my catch until I'm ready to do something with them.
How should I do this?
Freeze whole/uncooked? Freeze whole/cooked? Freeze cleaned/uncooked? Freeze cleaned/cooked? Freeze cooked and picked?

If for bait - freeze uncleaned and whole. Also, freeze in water to help keep moist and prevent freezer burn. If for consumption - freeze cleaned and whole. Uncooked.
Since fishing is a sport, I guess that makes us athletes...

Yeah, I'm talking about eating them.
Also, what are the rules about setting a pot and coming back to it later? Is it better to leave it during the day whilst at work or better to leave it over night?

Im pretty sure you cant leave em overnight man. I think you gotta pull em before the sun goes down. Ive always had pretty good luck crabbing in the evenings.
BTW, do you go to Texas A&M at Galveston?
