Went to the BVI for my sons wedding and took no fishing gear. The resort beach mgr. fixed me up with a hand line 100 lb test and a large treble hook. There were bait balls under the docks and he said i could snag a live sardine and then throw it out and the Tarpon would attack! I thought "sure". The hardest part was snagging the bait, but when i did WOW! Three hook ups and jumps galore until breakoff on dock pileings.Take your fishing gear to the BVI's!!!!!!!

Marina Caye? Family sails that region pretty hard My uncle used to take a six pack and the dingie and a medium weight rod and do the same thing, you could hear his goofy self gettin drug all over the bay by those big fish. When he was done with his beer he would come back tot he boat, it was hysterical
Bonefish are strong down there as well, fyi

PETER ISLAND That place was beautiful! Lots of Cat's would anchor in the coves and the dingie's would be parked on the beach at night to eat at the resort.

I have been as well...Best vacation I have ever taken...Started at Little Dix Bay {Save the jokes, already heard them} we chartered a 60 sail boat for 7 days and made the rounds in the Virgin Gorda, Anagada. We docked one night in a spot like your talking about and I had to watch those big tarpon all under the boat! Was awesome, no rods! Welcome to the forum, throw some pix up for these boys!

Sounds like a blast!
That's why I had a custom 2 pc. rod made. Tarpon on a 7' bass rod with a Chronarch SF w/30# braid and 30# Flouro leader. Literally tore the rear hook out of a Rapala XRap.
USVI may be my next vacation. But it may also be Cayman Brac. We know some people with homes there, and all of the same fish dwell there.

Throw us some photos. Even sunset photos are good!

It was out of Virgin Gorda...I cant remember the name of it but the crew was great...It was a guy and his girlfriend, she cooked and cleaned up, he captained and cook some as well, great team and great experience overall...Would deffinently do it again!
