I bought a Lowrance LCX-112c from a guy and it has a bunch of waypoints stored on it. I am trying to copy those waypoints to a blank memory card so that I can send them to him but sure if it worked. I managed to copy a user data file and and data overlay file. I don't really have a way of confirming that it has copied the actual waypoints on to the blank memory card I stuck in it. The Lowrance unit has them stored on it. I don't want to erase all of his waypoints from the unit until I am absolutely sure that they have copied over to the memory card I am going to send to him. Any help would be much appreciated. The LCX unit has 2 memory card slots on it. The top 1 is where he had his Navionics chip. There is a memory card slot directly below that 1 but if I stick a memory card in it just freezes the unit. How do I copy Waypoints to a blank memory card?

first take out the mapping card.

then put your sd card in one of the slots. then hit menu key until you see system set up at the press ent. then scroll down to transfer data. then press ent. then you want to save then scroll down to save or copy. then it will automatic save to the card. it will save as data.usr file. if you want change right before you save it just highlite data.usr and press ent then move your arrow keys up and down and left to right to change the letters and the space.

Thank you once again Jason for helping a fellow angler out. I copied the data.usr file last night. I just wasn't sure that file contained all of the waypoints. Now I know, and can mail the old owner his waypoints to put on his new unit. Thanks so much.

make sure its a 1g or better sd card or they wont transfer!
