give him some advice, link him to youtube, and mail them some free stuff! I've been able to pass a few jigs along so others can see what I do and have given away quite a bit of materials and such for those learning... when I was learning, others did the same for me and it meant a lot to get some "expert's" stuff. Big thanks to all of you on here who have sent me stuff along the way...
I don't live for the thump, but I sure do like it.

Yep, my cousin came by for a weekend of fishing. He saw me tying jigs and asked if he could try. Well, he got off to a good start and I sent him home with thread, tools, marabou, chinnile, an old vise, and some other stuff. Good stuff.

Just do a search for jig tying on U-Tube, but if you want to learn right and have a little time to read go to the link I am posting below and click on fly tying, then beginners tying. Check out Al Campbell's info and patterns. All of the jig stuff comes from fly tying so why not learn from the best? He shows all the things you need know to tie jigs. He will go through tools, whip finish, all the info you can use. Then after you know all on that list move over to the Intermediate and then advanced. This is where I learned to tie almost 5 years ago now and didn't have any U-Tube stuff and some of that is not what I would do anyway. Some of it is very good also. Also check out their tips section. They also have a very good tying board. Also you could join in with us over at Crappie.com Jig tying board as we have lots of help there as well. FAOL IMHO is the best place to learn to tie and lots of reading and techniques you could ever want. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/If you have any questions just PM me and I will try to help all I can.
