Figured I would go ahead and start a thread about the sandies and their run up this creek.
I have not fished it yet, just driven by...not too many cars yet, but the water level, and flow looks good.

Still to early DJ. Water temp still to cold for any major activity and the next few days won't help.
End of Feb. and March look out!
Can't wait myself.
I'll be checking out Denton Creek since it's closer.

Yeah, water was still pretty darn cold. Got a little time to get all the hunting gear put up, and the fishing gear back out.

I fished at Springfield Park Sunday from about 11:00 - 1:00, caught 2 Sandies on white roadrunner, action was pretty slow but with the cold weather that is expected. At least we know they are starting to come up. I'll probably hit it again this weekend as long as it is not raining.

Fished RC last week before the rain. Water was very clear and very cold. Caught 2 males and a carp. I figure it'll take at least another week before you can fish there after the rain expected this week. I stay away for at least another week or two and save money on gas, unless someone post a credible report.

The place I like to go is right off 66 just east of centerville road at Springfield Park. Just start about even with the lake and you can walk north up to Castle with no problems and plenty of spots to fish. White or Chartreusse(?) Road Runners seem to work the best here.

Rowlett Rd. and Centerville under the bridge and down stream is good but you can't park in the field next to the creek anymore. I've seen Rowlett police starting to ticket trespassers. You can find parking around the area but it's a long walk from any where legal to park. Area off 66 at Springfield park is also good.
