Hey Perry, nice to talk to another local on here! Ill answer your question here from the other thread, yes these rods as well as any other custom rod is built from the ground up, the rod maker will talk to you about what type of fishing you do ( most custom rods are technique specific to bass anglers, but not all) then recommend specific components for the rod, being the blank, reel seat, guides, and grip. For example I like to fish for mostly pan fish, from very small bluegill to larger crappie and even sandbass, so my blank is a med./light power with fast action, 6.6' this allows me to cast very small jigs about 1/16 oz for small bluegill, but it still has enough back bone to target the larger panfish and sandies if desired
