ben, its my understanding is that benbrook is back in full force. the only ramps that might not be open are rocky creek and longhorn park. you should be able to put in at the free ramps near dutch branch. if you go let us know how you do. some of my buddies have been on the whites/hybrids real good near dutch branch (via yak).

I don't know, the ramp on the east side of the lake has had some work done on it and looks like it is in plenty of water. There wasn't barricades in front of it....so , I would think it would be open. Can anybody else elaborate on this?

Ben,
I'm unsure about Mustang - - may go take a look this weekend.
The lake level is currently approaching 684.5 . . . . . my fishing log from last fall shows the ramp / cove depth problems stopped me from fishing when the lake hit 687.5, so we probably need another 3 feet of lake rise to get the ramps close to usable again. At the current pumping rate, that is at least a month off unless rain helps out significantly. Of course. some were braver than I at launching at lower levels at Rocky Creek and Mustang last fall.

Launcher400 and I have been doing the same thing by watching the lake level. I think it has to get a little higher for me to start launching again - around 689 or about 4.5-5 feet more should do it smile

Lake is looking great, lots of water and it is up quite a bit. The water is still low and yes, ramps are closed. The fishing however, is awesome! I went out for a while today and slaughtered Hybrids up to 7 lbs or so and also caught a # of sandies. Focus on points and you should do very well. The fish were very sensitive to the size of the bait. I started small but once I was catching very big fish, I switched to a larger lure and didnt get a hit. I switched back over to a small roadrunner and sure enough, bang, the game was back on.
The lake is looking good, you can still see the islands back in richardson slough, so it is still very low but we should be good in due time. With or without boat or yak, the fish are stacked!

I checked this weekend and the lake was 9 feet down from the conservation pool level which is up from the 14 foot down level. I remember the last time being able to launch from dutch branch ramp was at the conservation pool level. Here's a good link to check to see how close we are.
