fished hazel park on the nueces and got bitten off by a decent sized gar, while throwin a spinner into the brush saw about a 4 foot very fat gar feeding on the top of the water which was pretty cool. but the mystery fish was caught on fresh shad no earthly idea what it was. it had the body of a catfish but was a dark color had black eyes and black stripes with fins that looked like a dog fish anybody ever caught one of these?

sounds like a grinnel or bowfin as their called

yes and no but im sure thats what is is. i looked it up on here and it had the fin on top but it wasnt ever fluffed up and the color was a lil different. it sure didnt like me i tell ya that much lol
