I've been fishing Lewisville a couple of years now and have some spots GPS'd where we've done pretty well, but I'm not sure if I'm right thinking of a couple of the landmark names you all use...so here's what I think, so please correct me if I'm wrong! (I don't mean to horn in on anybody's fishing spots, just trying to put names to some of the places I fish...)

Deadman's Point - the main mid-lake point that splits the lake in half?

Twin Trees Point - the point you go around if you're heading from the north Lake Dallas cut going east, then north towards Little Elm?

Gravel Pits - on a rough easterly heading between the cut and the water tower on the horizon? (I don't fish them until the sandies start surfacing later in summer, too much junk on the bottom to get hung up on...)

Pockrus humps - no clue

Party Cove - just west of the south Lake Dallas cut - never done any good fishing, but the scenery is pretty good!

Any other landmark definitions would be appreciated, again, I'm not trying to get in on any secret spots, just want to get a better idea of the layout of the lake...

Thanks,

Dave

The lake map will definitely help you out with these. Deadmans point is the one you think is twin trees. Twin trees is the point you tak a right at to go into hickory creek towards 35 and Sneaky Petes. Pockrus humps are out in Hickory Creek heading towards Sneaky Petes. Hope this helps.

That is a great little tool you got there. Some of the maps you get a wal-mart do not have the names of those locations. Just need to add some extra points for beer!!!

See ya'll out on the lake!

robsco, love your map. The area you say is Twin Trees. How did it get its name? I'v always known the area out from the gravel pit where there are 2 big tree branches sticking up in 45 ft of water as twin trees. Am I wrong? On those gravel pits, do you have any idea how many there are? I've never found them on my finder.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info fellas. I'll be out there in the morning with a buddy, probably starting at Deadman's, then maybe heading out to one of the humps south of Twin Trees if we can't fill the cooler. Got a fish fry coming up and hope to hit 'em hard.

I have a grey w/blue stripe 17'Glastron runabout carrying a yellow 30gal bait barrel. If you see us, say 'hello'!

thanks for that map robsco...i have only been sand bass fishing on lewisville 3 times and im pretty unfamiliar to the lake and sandie fishing. I noticed you didnt have any marks on the west side of the bridge and thats the area i was told to fish and look for the gulls and thats the only spot i have seen any gulls. Anyone got any tips for an inexperienced fishermen on locating sandies, hybrids, stripers besides by the gulls? Thanks for the help
