I'm new to hybrid fishing, just started a few weeks ago, have been catchin a few of them and am totally hooked now.
I never read on here where anyone night fishes for them. I've slayed sand bass at night before using a submersible green light and don't know why hybrids wouldn't follow bait to the light as well.
The daytime fish I've been catching are on big flats, 16-19 ft deep and in close proximity to deep water. If I dropped the green light over the side some night in those same areas, or maybe main lake points, would I be wasting time or what? I'm assuming I'd use slabs and/or sassy shads, or maybe rattle traps?
I'm sure some of y'all have experience catching hybrids at night, anyone care to give me some pointers?

You can catch them at night. I just started fishing at night this year for the first time. I believe I've done 11 trips this summer so far and have caught Hybrids in the dark on more than half of those. This is fishing from 2 am till 9 am. It fact most of the ones caught, came at night than after daybreak. I mainly throw a rattle trap but have caught some with sassy shad type baits. Fishing lighted docks, from Saline bay and down toward the dam catching alittle bit of everything Sandbass, Blackbass and Hybrids. Most of the Hybrids are 2 to 4 pounds with a 5 or 6 every so often. I've had a few trips with no Hybrids caught but caught sandies and blackbass although. I'm also running jug lines for Bluecats while out and that has been very good. It can be some really good fishing, just gotta be careful and take your time in everything you do. There are some other guys on here that do it also, maybe they will chime in. That was me last saturday morning that rolled up on your markers in front of the twin piers. I didn't see them till I was in the middle of them. I went ahead and moved off not to crowd you even though you had drifted down somewhat.

Shrimp and WD-40, just off the bottom in those same areas.

Have not fished Cedar Creek at nite, but it can be very good around docks with lights??? I can never stay up that late I guess???

Thanks for the info guys. Will probably try some night fishin on Palestine next week but will have to quit by probably midnight so I can get up at 5:30 and go to work. Moon is supposed to be full Tuesday night I think.
HRT - I remember a boat coming in last Saturday but didn't pay any attention to what it was..... I had caught 4 nice fish right in that area where the markers were but had been blank for awhile and moved on down searching with a DD-22. Didn't find anything else though. You shoulda stopped me and told me to get my markers picked up if I wasn't gonna stay with em!!

O No, your markers were fine. This is Palestine, we believe in giving folks room that was there first. I was really just finishing up my trip, looking for some morning schooling fish. That flat with that long ledge is a great spot. You can just about always catch them around there and sometimes they will load up real thick on it. My best Hybrid this year was caught about were your markers were laying. I'm on vacation this week, I plan on putting in some hours on the water.

Night fishing for hybrids can be productive. I have not
done it in years , but a green light will pull in
big #'s of shad, and the sandies and hybrids will follow.
I used live bait when fishing under the
green lights.
Fishing lighted docks will improve as the water cools
down.
