I know Fork had dropped moderately over the last month and with heading into September and temperatures over 100 each day it will mostly like drop more unless we get some good rainfall over the next month.

I am wondering what surprises are popping up all over the lake? When was the last time it was this low?

I have been running into Dale Creek for several months now, but with water levels down I decided to slow down and idle in right after the last buoy before the first PVC pipe sticking up. Which in my case was a great call; I hit a massive stump after coming off plane and just started to idle with my foot still heavy on the hot foot.

It is located in between the last buoy coming in and first PVC pipe. It would be just right of the buoy and right of the PVC pipe. Heads up to everyone!

thanks for the HU, Triton. It's not nearly as low as it was 6 years ago. You could have stayed on plane and never touched that stump. Although whats that they say about caution and valor?

4 years ago when I moved here. I should have grabbed my chain saw and waders to clean out our cove.

The Martin's Map is a great resource to see where areas of submerged timber are, which is where stumps show up as the water drops. From my experience it is pretty accurate.

There are several big stumps out from the timber in Dale as you go in, to the left, past the ones in the tree line at the mouth. Pesky things.

Boatlanes does not , repeat,
does not have a path into Dale creek.
that is because there is no path wide enough to be safe with GPS.

14 years living on Dale has cost about five or so skegs, two props, bent propshaft , etc ...
And I can run all the way to wcr 1560 (sometimes)(sometimes not!)
Be careful

Been through Dale alot over the years. Its always been a creek that scares me to run.Since alot of the timber has disappeared over the years I just don't trust myself to run it anymore. The place near the back on the right that has some big honker stumps always made me pucker.

I would like to go though there a time or two with someone who does know how to run it. In their boat of course......
Puckers me to some extent just coming in the front side.

Book Mark Pack, Tommy.

I grit my teeth every time I ride with him on that run. I've never experienced a "hit" going thru there with him. I won't run it myself, cuz we're usually in Mark's boat. Even if we're in mine, he's driving. I won't run anything but the obvious, unless I drive it myself, and I have fished the lake since September 1, 1980 or '81 whichever day the lake was opened. Packman can run fron the mainlake to the back, on plane, every time. And back out thumb

Next time I fish with Pack I'm gonna have him show me a few shortcuts. He is supposed to show me how to run all the way into White Oak as well. Hell I still get nervous running the guide cut from Mustang to LFM. I saw someone tear up a Skeeter coming into LFM a few years back too.
