My wife and I are considering buying a place on Lake Fork.I know Lake Fork is a great place for Largemouth Bass but I'm not much into Largemouth Bass fishing.
Has anyone ever fished there for Whites or Crappie? Is it good for any other kind of fishing besides bass?
Southern by the grace of God.

If 1 to 3 pound crappie turn your crank, it's a great place.LOL Don't know about the whites.

Caught my biggest crappie everout of Fork. In 40ft of water on a red/white/blue jig. Never any sandies, but alot of yellowbass/bar fish. They use to say Fork didn't have sandbass, but that is hard to believe.

How far is Fork from Grand Prairie? Is it easy to fish from the bank?
I don't really know what to type here.

Fork has never been stocked with white bass. There might be a few in there, but they were in the river when it filled if there are any.

There are quite a few "Bar Fish". I used to bow fish Fork about 10 years ago, and we saw them all the time. They look very similar to a sand bass, but smaller. I didn't know what they were, but someone told me they were called Bar Fish.

fork has ALOT of yellow bass (bar fish), which are just as fun to catch as whites. the only bummer is they dont get as big as whites do. they look just like whites but they have a yellow tint to them. they eat really good. i am not sure about limits on size and qaunity though. crappie are awesome on Fork. To my knowledge fork doesnt have whites/striper/hybrid. bank fishing would probably be kind of slow, you should get you a little john boat or bass buster and fish the coves/points out there. we catch alot of yellow bass and crappie on jigging spoons deep in the winter time.
