So, I know that hybrids are sterile, but do they make a spawning run upstream in the spring like white bass and stripers do?

Yes, some do. They are not completely sterile though. Some can actually spawn. The number of eggs that actually hatch into fry are so low that they make no impact in a lakes population.

They will start up the creeks as soon as the water starts to cool in the fall and if there is plenty of food for them they will stay over until after the spawn.

Two years ago I caught a bunch of them in Rowlett creek during the sandbass run. Last year only a few small ones.
