August 21st 3:00PM Cabela's FTWWell, another 2-3 months and the crappie will start to move into the creeks in the fall. So if you winterize your boat or don’t have a boat, and you like crappie fishing, you might want to join me for a FREE seminar at Cabela's. I'll go over how: -To read the water -When to go fishing -What gear to fish with -At the end, a "how to tie your own jigs" Bring the kiddos! -Plus much more.... -Learn how to tie jigs. This jig last season caught over 1000+ slabs within a month. Water temps were 41 degrees and I was pulling them out of 3 ft of water most of the season from the bank! And, I'll show you how! -2 man limit Rowlett Creek -Also, learn to navigate the creeks in smaller water crafts like tubes and yaks, with electronics, and locate crappie where the bank and bigger boats anglers can’t get to. Just look above at how thick that school is on the bottom! They were stacked 7 ft from the bottom on top of each other, most of the season. One of the 3 "One Man Pontoon Boats" I guide and navigate the creeks with. Cabela's Schedule for the 21st-22nd<---click here. If I am back from Cooper or Hugo, I will try to make it out for the seminar. Do you ever fish Hickory Creek?

Yes, the same tactics will work there. This year the fishing in HC was fantastic, when I could get up there. Just make sure you ask questions if I didn't go over them in the seminar. Even ask while I'm talking so you don't forget to ask...... I have no problem with being interrupted when im doing these.

Im already on the list for the opening there. I cant wait to have a shop close to me. 10 minute drive!! And both Bass Pro Shops will have one more seminar each before the winter run of crappie in the creeks. Then they will have one for the sandbass run in dec/jan. The drive for me sux too, lol. But this time we get a food vendor card, so i will get a free sandwich! They actually have a great BLT. I highly recommend you try one.
