Yes, it has been very difficult as of late. I've been going out there as well this past week and only catching a couple of fish each time.
Hopefully the fishing picks up here over the next few days.
When all else fails, make another cast.

We were out from about 11:00 until 3:30, wind was blowing pretty hard and tough to do anything but troll. Caught a few sandies and one pretty nice hybrid. Actually surprised us, we are used to catching a bunch of fish trollin the Hell-pets. We were ALL OVER the lake. Hopefully it gets better soon.

I went Sunday and caught nothing. Of course it was my first day ever trying for sandbass, it was my first trip to Lewisville and I had my 5 year old and my 3 year old with me. So maybe I'm not the best measuring stick for success.
My 3 year old did hook into a nice outboard though. Took me about 10 minutes to get the hook out.

It has been tough! Went Saturday morning, managed two nice hybrids, a few small sandies, and one catfish at twin poles. All caught on 2oz. slabs. Wind was blowing, noone was catching very many.
Went out Sunday evening. Suffered through the boat parade leaving party cove to get to deadman's point. That will be the last time I ever fish on Sunday evening. Wind was blowing! Caught sandies schooling once we got to the east side of the lake. Caught several small sandies, only one nice keeper, no hybrids. Worked the birds for about 30 minutes. Went to twin poles to finish the day and only caught tiny, tiny ones. Almost caught a sky boat pleasure boating too close, about 10 feet short on the cast but got his attention. Used spinner baits and 2 oz. slabs. Nice sunset though.

We saw a few guys leaving the boat show last week and almost ( I mean within 5 feet) got run over by a big Donzi runnin about 60 mph. We thought the big boat had the right-of-way. When it gets busy out there we really have to watch whats going on around us. We saw people pulling tubers right through the trees yesterday afternoon,Right of the 121 cut (coming from pier 121) smack dab in the middle of the forest. I looked at my buddy and he was just cringing at the site of it. I agree with you jaw, no more Sunday eve's out there, the folks leaving the Party Cove could care less about anyone fishing...

We've been seeing all sorts of people pulling tubers through the forest not to mention the people blowing right through it. It's hard to watch. I wonder how long it'll be before somebody gets hurt bad out of the deal but don't know what to do about it either. I flagged down a boat pulling a couple kids through it 2 weeks ago, flagged them down, and described the area to them. They had NO clue.
Yes, the fishing has be TOUGH lately but will pick back up soon.

With any luck the wind will lay down soon and the fishing should improve. As far as the a$$holes at party cove I'm afraid we are stuck with them until Memorial Day Weekend, then most if not all of them will go back to yuppie vill on dry land and leave us alone!

Hey Boston Bob, wanna explain their fall/spring patterns for us novices? Could use a little help for after they stop making themselves so obvious by schooling up like they do now. Thanks for any help. At $3.00 a gallon I sure would rather not motor all over the lake not knowing what I'm looking for.

I went out Saturday and it was the worst day of the year for me. I did go to Sneaky Pete's and had a nice lunch with a view.

Sunday was great for me - which isn't saying much at all! Several big hybrids all on slabs. Fish would pop the surface just for a moment and that's where one would be caught - seemed to be on the move. Although didn't get the numbers, they were the biggest hybrids i've ever caught at Lewi.
I also would like to know something about the fall fishing as i'd rather save some gas $ as well.

Guess Boston Bob's not gonna tell us about the fall paterns guys. So we are on our own as far as knowing what to look for when targeting sandies/hybrids when the weather changes.
