Everyone has those days where everything you touch just ends in a bad way. Today was my day. Started out very minor. Had a light out on the trailer. Not a big deal. Easy fix. This is where you need to stay with me. I have the Navionics app on my iPhone and it absolutly drains my battery when I use it. Since I have a filet knife that clips on to my battery and has an cigarette lighter plug with it, I decided to bring it with me and use it to charge my phone when it went dead. Well, after my son backed me into the water and parked the truck, I asked him to make sure to get the battery connector and my charger. Let me add that I have a lid on the bed of my truck. When my son got in the back of the truck to get the battery connector out to the case he laid my keys in the bed of the truck. I have told him so many times not to do this because if he shuts the lid he would lock the keys in the bed. Well, I sat there in the boat and watched him have his "OH S***!" moment. There was no time for me to say anything. So now we are 70 miles from home and my keys are locked in the bed of my truck. Ended up his buddy was there with us and he had to drill out the lock cylinder in order to get one side to open just enough where we could open the tailgate and get the keys. So now I have to get the whole locking mechanism replaced on my lid. I have no idea how much that's going to cost to fix. So we leave the ramp and try to turn on the radio. All the screen would do was flash every once in a while. I like to listen to some tunes when I fish so that will need to be fixed or replaced. Now to the ender. I have a Motorguide trolling motor with a foot control. While at our third spot I pushed the pedal to turn right. Nothing happened. Took the trolling motor apart and came to the conclusion the cable the goes from the foot control to the motor had snapped. Don't know how much that's going to cost either. All this happened within an hour or so. I told my son we were loading up and going home. I felt if I didn't get off the lake right then I might end up sinking the boat. But today was my turn I guess to have "one of those days". I know we all have them but thought I would share mine. This is definitly one trip I will never forget!

Well, the bright side is your day is over. Now you can look to many great days from here on out on the water, after you...... fix the lock...fix the radio...fix the trolling motor......... You have to love this hobby we have call fishing. My wife says I am addicted to it, and she is right. Take the bad with the good and in the end the good is always on top. Hope your next trip R1 will be fantastic.

Sorry to hear about your bad day. You were right to leave though, because it was steadily getting worse. The bright side is that the next time you go out, it will be better

At the moment you decided to leave 6 dozen fish right beneath you were ready to bite. Welcome to my world.

Thanks guys! Believe me, all these things will be fixed and i will be back on the water. Probably not till next year but I will get everything fixed and get back out there. This was probably my last trip of the year with dove season, bow season, and gun season starting up in the next couple of weeks and lasting through January. That will give me time to save up enough time to save up some money to get all this stuff fixed. Starting with the lock on my lid.
I just thought y'all would enjoy my painful day.
Btw Blooper, I was marking tons of fish when I decided to get off the water. So believe me there was a thought of staying out but with 10-15 winds it wasn't worth it since I wouldn't have been able to stay on them.
But I have to say I will never forget the "OH S***!" look. It was a classic.

Tony, You pulled up next to the fish cleaning station just as we finished drilling out the lock cylinder. I should have just put my boat on the trailer and jumped in your boat!!!
