Click on this and read it. Do not open or click on anything that comes to your computer that says anything to the effect of delivery failure or notice of failure. If you open an email of this sort the Slo virus will enable. Delete and empty trash right away. Do your virus updates right this second. I had 6 waiting for me just now that I deleted...no joke. http://www.msnbc.com/news/954470.asp?0cv=CB20&cp1=1 click above and read. ------------------ Mark McManaway Local Angler's: Guide localanglers@msn.com www.localanglers.com[214] 207- 8276

I'm the Network/Email Admin for my company and it's times like these that I'm very grateful we are are mostly a Mac environment, and that we have a network appliance that filters/cleans all incoming email before it even gets to our server.. Tuesday we had about 8000 messages quarantined, but that was after I tweaked the filters to catch the latest rash at about 4pm.. at the peak we were getting about 1000+ per hour... yes chicken little, the sky is falling! but it's only air

hook-line&sinker, that is a good one! Network admin in a mac environment, hah!... (just teasing you!). Our mail is processed through unix servers before we let a M$ machine touch it. Mail is then scanned on the exchange server that gets updated virus definitions daily, and the client pcs are updated daily. Forced security patches and regular vulnerability scans take care of the rest.

Hey Earnest, One thing I'd like everyone to know about these email worms, the "From:" address may be, and usually is, spoofed with an address extracted from the victim machine. Therefore the perceived sender is most likely NOT a pointer to the infected user. So just because someone receives an email with your email address in the "from" field, doesn't mean you are infected. Almost always, the from field is spoofed. PLEASE, before you do or say anything, read the virus information library (vil) at http://vil.nai.com I have seen nasty phone calls made, heated arguments ensue, and yes, even law suites filed over these email worms. That's what these email worms do, they make people assume and act on their incorrect assumption. Keep whatever anti-virus you use updated and don't be fooled. _Hey Yall: I brought up the Stinger Anti Virus...Free Download from last October. _It's still active and it's Updated Whenever New A/V fighting programs are written. If you think you need to scan jsut go to Jp Greeson's Post In TFF News and Annoucements that has the Blue Letters "Stinger" URL...it's very simple to use. Even I can work it!! DOH!! _I installed Mc Afee AV online and receive almost daily AV Up-Dates...but I still scan regularly because you just never know what's out there on the WWW Yall!! _When In Doubt..Do A Scan Yall!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bazztex<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

One thing about the stinger tool, it only detects and removes a very limited number of viruses. Currently 29 viruses and their variants are in it's list. The stinger was designed to hunt down and kill the viruses that disable your anti-virus program and keep it from re-installing. This is the notorious list:
BackDoor-AQJ Bat/Mumu.worm Exploit-DcomRpc IPCScan IRC/Flood.ap IRC/Flood.bi IRC/Flood.cd NTServiceLoader PWS-Sincom W32/Bugbear@MM W32/Deborm.worm.gen W32/Dumaru@MM W32/Elkern.cav W32/Fizzer.gen@MM W32/FunLove W32/Klez W32/Lirva W32/Lovgate W32/Lovsan.worm W32/Mimail@MM W32/MoFei.worm W32/Mumu.b.worm W32/Nachi.worm W32/Nimda W32/Sdbot.worm.gen W32/SirCam@MM W32/Sobig W32/SQLSlammer.worm W32/Yaha@MM
Keep in mind there are more than 75,000 known computer viruses, so this utility should not be considered a substitute for full anti-virus protection.

93 today, 53 in the last 4 hours...most from folk i do not know, but quite a few from tournaments@tff.com or whatever it is, some from sharon, some from others on the forum.
not sure if i ahve had it or not, but if you got one from me, please let me know. my software says nothing about me having it.
however, the aol 9.0 that i am running shows them as mail, but no attachment to them, could they be filtering that out?
